ITV’s Tonight programme is looking for a family who works but with the cost of living the way it is would be better off not working at all.
They have suggested perhaps a family in which one parent works for a low/minimum wage with the other parent working part time and three or more children living in a three or four bedroomed house, who would get all sorts of extra benefits if the parents didn’t work – most significantly they would get their rent paid and wouldn’t have to pay out for childcare/fuel costs for travel to and from work etc.
