In this fast-paced world where it seems mandatory to be busy during every waking moment, we sometimes feel run down and tired. We are not sick, we are just spent. We work hard and play hard. We are dedicated to the social and physical lives of every member of the family. We are committed to our jobs and our future career it will bring us. So, having no “get up and go” is a major problem. Fortunately, there are many natural and safe ways to reboot and refresh your body.
Boosting your energy
Get more sleep.
You may think this is an absurd suggestion. How are you supposed to find the time to sleep more? The cold truth is this; if you do not sleep enough your body cannot heal itself. It is when we sleep that our brain releases hormones and chemicals that repair blood vessels, muscle damage, and stress-related problems. If you want energy, you must have a strong body. That body comes with sleep.
Use of essential oils such as lavender or chamomile are proven to help you adjust your internal clock.
You may think you drink enough water, but most people do not. You should drink 1-ounce of water for every pound you weigh. What does this have to do with energy? Your organs must have enough water to function properly. You must drink water to flush impurities for your body. Even a very mild case of dehydration can cause you confused, unable to remember, and sluggish.
Please don’t skip this part. People think essential oils are a new trend. The only thing new about them is where you can get them. Essential oils are made from trees, plants, and flowers. They are processed into essential oil. The purest quality oils work to assist the body to naturally heal and repair itself. People have relied on these plants for generations.
Essential oils are inhaled from the bottle or dripped into a diffuser which released it in a mist that fills the room. Some oils are safe to rub on the skin. Some oils to use to balance your body, enhance your mood, and give you energy include:
- Lemon oil
- Orange oil
- Grapefruit oil
Note: If you have pain that is causing you to slow down your activities, peppermint oil is perfect. It eases pain and has many other medicinal purposes.
Live by the “garbage in garbage out” rule
When your body is properly fueled, it will cooperate with your brain to give you energy. But, when you feed yourself junk food, oily snacks, and alcohol, your body stops that cooperation. Pay attention to when you feel sluggish then look back and discover what you need to eliminate in your diet.
See your doctor
Many times lack of energy is a partner to depression. Depression is manageable. Go in for a checkup. Eliminate physical and emotional issues before you begin to treat yourself.
Increase your Magnesium
Magnesium is very important to the human body. One of the benefits of having the right amount of magnesium in your system is it helps break down glucose. That translates in to feeling better, moving more, and taking fewer drugs. A woman needs 3oo-milligrams of Magnesium and a man needs 350- milligrams per day to be healthy.
Stay away from alcohol
You do not have to give up drinking entirely. But, you should understand that alcohol is a depressant. By its very nature, it will slow your brain. The next day, you may feel even more tired. If you limit your alcohol intake, you will feel energetic.
Sometimes you just need an hour to boost your energy in a day. When you are planning your day, allow for an hour so you can take a power nap between work and other activities. That may be all you need to recover and be ready to go again.
