Ah, perhaps that’s not quite how the recipe should go. In fact, it reminds me of a time a few years ago now when I became so engrossed in examining my bank statement that I didn’t notice the kitchen roll blow onto the hob. Sid was only about three at the time and was trying to grab my attention to let me know that it had caught fire. Thankfully, it didn’t take me very long at all to notice so I was still able to dunk the roll into a bowl of water before the fire had had a chance to spread. Things could have been very different indeed.
