Two days ago we returned from a month long visit to our favourite place. We loved it here so much last year that we couldn’t wait to return… and return we did.
Last year’s trip was spent rushing around from place to place, being touristy and seeing and doing lots. This time we just took time to chill and relax. Well, as much as you can chill out and relax when you take your jobs with you (as well as eleven of your thirteen children), I suppose.
Still, it was great to be somewhere different.
It was wonderful to be somewhere that provides the children freedom to safely run around in the open air and sunshine whenever they like.
It was glorious to be somewhere where you could pick fruit straight from the trees in the garden, so fresh that when you bit into them, the sweet, syrupy juice would trickle down your chin, and so succulent that the taste is unlike any found in any supermarket.
It was fabulous to be able to walk, talk, play and just generally be, living daily in complete privacy, away from prying eyes.
It was amazing to have space so that we weren’t tripping over each other in every room.
It was fantastic to be able to enjoy the hot summer sunshine – even the storms were fun to watch!
It was just… our favourite place.
Here is a little snippet of how we spent our days…

Looks absolutely stunning! Glad you all had a wonderful time x
It really is stunning indeed. It’s such a beautiful place in an extremely beautiful country. Can’t wait to see what you think of it!
How lovely! Wouldn’t it be nice if life could always be like that?
Wouldn’t it just? We cannot recommend it highly enough. Just beautiful!
Sounds and looks heavenly. Glad you all had fun.
So glad you enjoyed yourselves so thoroughly and managed a real break this time. Welcome home 🙂
Thank you! We had such a wonderful time there. We’re already planning our return. Looking forward to seeing you now that we’re back x
I’ve just listened to the bells again – just lovely! X
When we heard them again for the first time when we returned we were so excited! 8.30pm on the dot, all the younger ones in bed and sitting outside listening to the bells in peace – perfect!
