No-Knead Bread Recipe

(makes 2, 2lb loaf tins)

Ingredients:

9 cups plain or bread flour

Salt

Dried yeast

4½ cups hand-hot water

1 tsp sugar

Method:

Pour 9 cups of flour into a bowl.

Add salt and stir in.

In a separate bowl,  whisk 4½ cups of hand-hot water with 1 tsp sugar and 2 tsp dried yeast.  Once the yeast is activated the mixture should look a little frothy.

Pour the yeast mixture into the bowl of flour and mix together thoroughly.

Once mixed and combined to form a sloppy dough, cover with clingfilm and place in fridge overnight.

Remove dough from fridge and divide between two greased loaf tins.  Alternatively, break off the amount needed for a particular sized loaf you want and shape directly onto greased tray.

Score the top of the dough with a sharp knife and leave to rise for an hour or so.  In the meantime pre-heat the oven to 180°C. (Click for oven temperature conversions).

After an hour place in oven to bake for approximately 35-45 minutes.  Remove when base of bread sounds hollow when tapped and cool on a wire rack, or eat whilst still warm!
