You know you have a large family when…

Every now and then something happens where you’ll realise you do actually have more than the average number of children.  This morning was one of those occasions.

I was preparing for this morning’s anomaly scan and gathered my ante natal notes together.  Normally, you’ll have a page or two in which to complete your obstetric history, rather like the picture above.

However, you know you have a large family when…

… you keep your entire obstetric history in a Word file on your computer and print it off and staple it into your maternity notes whenever needed!

What were your “You know you have a large family…” moments?

  1. I always realise that i have more children than the norm when I run out of spaces on official forms and I only have four children.

  2. I love your stories of your larger family! Hope it’s all going well. Completely frazzled here just with two and finding time on line eluding me. If you fancy a visit I reckon Rainham’s 1 hour 40 and we could do that? XXX if you live in Rainham, that is? Ha ha. Can’t remember?

  3. I only have four (planning to have at least one more!) but as the kids get bigger, so are all my pots and pans. I just can’t cook a meal in small pots for us anymore, and it’s only going to get worse! I am slowly upgrading to giant dishware.

  4. when ur told that uv been remembered as “the lady with all the kids”. i was in morisons today after being in yesterday but hubbys card didnt work so my items were put back so when i went in i had to rebuy them all and the lady at the deli counter told me she remembered me cos im the young lady with all of the kids! i didnt mind apart from the fact that i only have 4 lol

  5. When you go to buy school supplies and someone asks if you run a school…

Or people ask me if I am “stocking up” on groceries when I am only shopping for a week…

When it takes almost an hour to make doctor appointments for yearly check-ups…

when I walk down the toy isle at Christmas and realize I have already bought or decided against buying most of these toys at least once… maybe several times…

  6. I know I have a large family (5 children) as whenever we go out I have to count the children lots of times to make sure everyone’s accounted for.
