Can you believe that in just over two weeks it will all be over? Yes, that’s all the time we have left now, but hopefully we’re well on track and not feeling flustered at all.

Week 8 (w/c 09/12):

How is the gift list going? Have you worked your way through most of it yet? If not it’s a good idea to step it up. Try to get anything ordered online by the end of this week to allow for stock issues, returns and replacements or delayed delivery times.

Make sure all cards and any gifts are posted out by the end of the week. You should be able to squeeze in sending any gifts abroad early this week but be very quick so as not to miss the final dates.

Add a little handmade extra to your Christmas decorations with this fabulous little tree – find the free knitting pattern on Make It Shabby.

Double-check any plans on who is coming over if you’re playing host this year. You’ve still time to arrange food and seating arrangements for extra guests so there’s no need to panic.

You can start on any make-ahead Christmas recipes this week too, or at least make sure you’ve all the ingredients ready and waiting for those which need making closer to the date. Want some inspiration? We’ve got it right here with this Easy Shortbread recipe whose dough you can freeze for up to six weeks, and these yummy Lebkuchen Christmas Biscuits which you can bake and keep for up to three weeks – so both ideal for getting out of the way this week.

We have created a printable PDF copy of Christmas Countdown: Your week-by-week guide to getting organised for Christmas – Week 8 for you to print off and keep.
