We have a month left until the big day and all the little steps we’ve taken so far should have us feeling relatively relaxed and reassured that everything is in hand.

Week 6 (w/c 25/11):

Avoid the hustle and bustle and plan on having your main Christmas groceries delivered to your door this year instead. The supermarkets will soon be opening up their slots for Christmas delivery so keep an eye out towards the end of this week and beginning of next week to book yours. Not sure what you need? Whip up a basket of the basics you’ll definitely be needing; milk, bread, butter, potatoes, veg and so on, in order to reach your minimum order limit to allow you to ‘check out’ and reserve your delivery slot. You can always go back to your order and add more groceries throughout the month as you think of them once your slot has been confirmed.

It goes without saying that the slots closer to Christmas Day are booked up the quickest, so make a note on the calendar to keep a close an on the online stores this week. Delivery slots for each supermarket will be announced here:

Tesco Christmas Delivery Slots

Asda Christmas Delivery Slots (now available)

Waitrose Christmas Ordering Information

Sainsbury’s

Ocado

Sticking to a budget can sometimes be quite difficult to do, no more so at this time of the year. Hopefully you’ll have bagged quite a few bargains on gifts and supplies by starting your shopping early on and finding some great discount codes and deals.

You can continue the moneysaving on your groceries too by using an online grocery price comparison site. These will allow you to shop with your usual retailer as normal, but then tots up your total price and compares it with your supermarket’s rivals to see which gives you more bang for your buck for the same products.

Your orders and gift purchases should be coming in thick and fast now. Keep on top of the wrapping and prepare any overseas packages for sending. We’ll be checking the last postal dates next week. This year, why not encourage the kids to make and give their very own creative gifts for a wonderful personal touch that the recipient will love and that they will be proud of. Find some fabulous ideas and inspiration for handmade gifts children can make and give here, and next week we’ll be looking at getting stuck into some handmade decorations, so get the craft supplies stocked up!
