Bliss

5.30am.

Everybody sleeping but me.

One load of washing hung.

Another load in the machine.

Dishwasher emptied.

Hair done. Make up on. Dressed.

Ready for the day.

Blue sky and sunshine.

Breakfast in the garden.

A moment of silence.

Bliss.

  1. How do you manage to get up early without any little sidekicks? I can be as quiet as a mouse but my girls just seem to know I'm up and they are instantly up as well!

  2. Wow. I'm impressed. Make up and all!!! I'm with Mum-me, whenever I try and get up early I collect a shadow (or two!).

  3. I want to do this one day, I KNOW I always feel so much better after an early start to the morning, but… I'm tired!!

  4. this was so me until the last couple of weeks. i love my morning quiet time and my kids respect it. But 2 weeks ago we added a 1 and 3 year old and they are not there yet. I would not change things for the world

  5. HOW do you do that?!!! I think of you tie to time when I am rolling out of bed at 6:45 and the kids are getting up too. I know I've missed my window of quiet time. I love getting up before them but I also love the silence at night when they are all asleep…what time do you get to bed???

  6. @glutenfreenz – I can usually get 3-45 minutes squeezed in before I have company.

@abba12 – It takes a few weeks of consistently making yourself get up early at the same time every day but I think it's worth it.

@Beth – I'm usually in bed around 9pm though it isn't unknown for me to be up til the rock star hour of 10 sometimes!
