How to Boost Your Bedroom Lighting

You may already know that more light in your rooms make them look bigger and they contribute to your well-being. Optimizing the light that you get through your rooms, including your bedroom, is how you’re going to be able to improve your mental well-being and make your home look more aesthetically pleasing. A great home design can maximize a day like that reaches the interior, but what about the bedroom?

Usually bedrooms are considered to be places that should be dark so that you can get a good night’s sleep. The thing is, you’re not sleeping in your room 24 hours a day, so during the daytime hours you want there to be as much light as possible. Whether you do this with adding more actual windows into the wall to bring in more natural light, or you simply add a mirrored bedside table to reflect it, there are plenty of ways that you can boost your bedroom lighting so that it looks bright and airy no matter what.

Call in the window cleaners

Your windows should be attracting your attention because of what’s coming through them rather than what’s on them. Cleaning your windows as a regular chore should help you to remove the rain stains, dust and grime. If you have fly screens on your windows, you need to take these off and pressure wash them twice a year so that they can maintain their cleanliness too. Cleaning your windows regularly to remove all of this can ensure that the glass and the surrounding frames ensure maximum light entry. There are plenty of ways to avoid streaks too so that you can get your window cleaned for glazing that is light and maximizing it.

Consider sheer curtains

If you have heavy curtains across the window, you are more likely to block out the light and during the winter months, heavier curtains are the norm. If your windows are now pristine from the window cleaner, then it’s time to make sure that your curtains are not blocking the light. Swapping out the heavy curtains for sheer curtains, especially during the brighter months with longer daylight hours is going to help you to bring more daylight through your bedroom. This makes the whole room look area and ethereal and it’s a quality that you bring to the room that makes it stand out.

Cut back the trees

If you have trees and foliage that are blocking the windows, then you need to stop worrying about calling a gardener and get somebody in ASAP to get it cleaned and cleared back. You might not have any control of an electric chainsaw or know how to use a pair of shears, but you do know how to call a landscaper. Come and do it for you. You can clean the windows and you can hang different window treatments to let more light in. But if you have trees in the way, then the light is already impeded before you even had a chance to clear the windows.
