The UK’s Best New Year’s Eve Displays for 2017



With the end of 2017 upon us, it’s time to make the most of a special countdown before the next year ahead. Fancy spending it somwhere different this year? Where better to see in the New Year than England’s great capital? Each year, thousands gather on the Thames to watch the amazing displays to celebrate the countdown.

Big Ben’s iconic ‘bongs’ will count us into the first day of the year before the display begins. The fireworks usually last around 12 minutes and will be accompanied by exhilarating music that will get the crowds jumping. It is always a wonderful experience and a time for a true sense of love and friendship.

Scotland is well-known for its spectacular New Year welcomes so if you would prefer something further North, why not take a trip to Edinburgh’s Hogmanay festival which offers something for everyone. Whether you are celebrating alone, with a partner or even with a family, Scotland has it all. 

Don’t worry about the little ones missing on on their bedtimes – midday is the new midnight! At 1:00pm on the 31st December 2017, the festival has its own Baby Love Disco, which allows your little ones to let loose on the dancefloor whilst day-clubbing to some of their favourite songs! You might be questioning: ‘why? the whole point of a NYE party is to countdown in the new year’. Well, they will be… in Queensland!

If your little one fancies partying a little bit longer, you can take them along to attend ‘Bairns Afore’ which is an entirely new event to the festival itself. The stage will be based at the bottom of Edinburgh castle, which will host family-friendly entertainment and even fireworks before it’s time to put your children to bed.

For those who are plan on staying up a little bit later, there is an outdoor concert where Rag’n’Bone Man will be headlining. Other performers include Ceclan McKenna and Nina Nesbitt!
