How to Make 2018 Your Best Blogging Year EVER!

The growth of the internet has paved the way for a new method of communicating and sharing our thoughts, our experiences, our skill and our knowledge. Blogging is a cathartic release for some, a vessel of expression for others,  or even a way of making money for a growing number of people. I started blogging in the very early years, creating a couple of now non-existent blogs which I used to dip by feet into the new online world that it then was back in the early noughties. Since then, the blogging world has developed considerably and with it too the opportunities it presents.

The internet has enabled us to create a business that we can run from anywhere. As a result, we are able to travel around with our family for weeks at a time, all the while generating an income. For our family, the world of blogging and the growth of the internet has provided us with a wealth of opportunities we would not have had, and tapping into them has provided us with the means to support our family in a way we could never have envisaged.

As Larger Family Life prepares to celebrate its 10th birthday in 2018, we share some tips on how you can make 2018 your best blogging year ever:

Get a new look

If you are just starting out in the world of blogging or you think it is time to update your look, a new logo will be the first thing you need. Do you want quirky, serious, professional or fun? Not sure?  No problem at all. Best of all, you don’t even need to hire anyone else to do the job for you. Even complete beginners can design a logo themselves through a simple, step-by-step process. It’s quick, it’s easy and it’s very straightforward to do.

Hone those skills

Blogging is a process which gets better the more you do it. Ask any blogger to find their first posts and they will likely cringe and apologise. Double check your spellings and grammar and see if there is anything that can be improved upon. YouTube videos and other blogs are a great source of information and guidance from becoming a better blogger to improving your photography skills.

Keep up appearances

Try to post twice a week if you can. Blogs that are updated with regular content are, surprise surprise, read more frequently than those updated only once or twice a month. Publishing regular posts gives readers new material to read, in turn attracting not only new readers but also keeps your existing ones coming back for more.

Get social

Visiting other blogs, leaving (genuine) comments and updating your blog’s social media channels regularly are a great way of widening your own audience further than posting updates alone. Don’t be shy to strike up conversations and say hello!
