I’d never considered burying a Saint until now

For years now it has been our dream to buy a patch of land in Ireland and set up home there. Obviously in a house. Not a tent or treehouse or anything like that. I don’t think even I could manage that.

Now we’re getting restless. We feel we should stop talking and start doing. But first we need to get the house in order so that we can sell up.  Then there’s the actual strain and stress of selling.

So when I came across The Happy Zombie’s post from a while back (ok, 2007 actually), talking about how the act of burying a statue of St Joseph upside down in your front yard helps you to sell up I thought that it’s worth a try. I printed off the pattern and with a view to killing two birds with one stone I thought it would also make a good Christmas present for Michael, who is more desperate to move than I am.

So here he is. St Joe a Go-Go, care of The Happy Zombie’s pattern.

The only problem is, I don’t have the heart to bury him.
Somehow it just doesn’t seem right.
It seems plain wrong.

Instead he sits on the dresser shelf.  Beside the Bible.

Of course.

Monica, if we’re still in this house in a years time I’ll be back to speak with you.

  1. St. Joe a go go??? That's hilarious? Thank you for the laugh, I needed it this morning. And I've never heard of that tradition, definitely an interesting one!! Happy Wednesday to you!

  2. Thanks for stopping by my site the other day. Glad I could give you a laugh. Never heard of burying the saint statue in the yard. Thankfully we do not need to sell a house these days. Always very stressful. Good luck.

  3. I never heard of buring him upside down! My husband used to wear a St. Francis pendant…maybe that's why animals love him so much…
