Positively perfect in every way!

Oliver George Sullivan was born on 3rd June 2009 at 9.26am, weighing 7lbs 12 (and a half!) ounces. I went into labour after experiencing pains throughout the whole of Tuesday followed by bleeding when I woke for the toilet in the early hours of Wednesday morning. However, a few hours later the monitor was showing Oliver’s heart rate wasn’t recovering quickly enough after dipping with the contractions and so an emergency caesarean was needed, but of course it’s not an issue at all!
He has blue eyes, and light brown hair which we believe will become blonde over time, long, slim fingers and toes and every time I look at him I can’t believe how perfect and wonderful he is. Everyone adores him. He’s not wanting for affection at all!

Our baby is here, he’s beautiful and he’s perfectly healthy despite a stressful and worrying pregnancy. There is no concern regarding his bowel, or his health in general and has been given the all clear. I’m in heaven and we’re thrilled and thankful to God that our baby is safely with us. Thank you so very much to everyone who has supported and prayed for us over the last few months.

I’ll try and write a more detailed post at some point but for now I’ll just leave you with a few pictures while I settle down to an evening of cuddling and gazing at my beautiful, beautiful little boy.

Oliver at an hour old

Ten hours old

Paddy is now promoted to “big brother” and meets his baby brother for the first time. Oliver is a day old.

Back at home earlier today. Four days old already. I could sit and look at him all day!

How can you fall in love with someone so much, so quickly?

  3. Congratulations Tania and everyone! He's totally gorgeous and a lucky boy to be born into such a loving family.

  4. So so so so gorgeous – I'm well through my baby days, but gooly, can that boy twang the old broody strings that I thought had snapped sometime last year?!?
Congrats to all on your precious arrival, and delighted that all is so well. I was borderline a c-section back with DS2 due to heart-rate dipping, but his came back up and he wasn't stressed by it – turned out he had cord twice round his neck, but just enough room to get out! Glad you were well monitored and who cares how they come out in the end as long as it's safe and they're in your arms.
    Enjoy every single precious minute.
Love to all the fab family.

  5. Thanks be to God!!!!! Thank you for this update Tania! I was starting to worry a fair bit. But, oh this is the best of news and a brilliant start to a busy week. He's simply stunning, a gorgeous little guy. You asked "how can you fall in love so fast?" Well, gee golly, just LOOK at him!
So glad you are home and well, I had 3 csections..take it as easy as you can. Jumping for joy over here.
Congratulations and Welcome to the WOrld Oliver!

  6. He is absolutely beautiful, Tania! Many congratulations, and keep enjoying that bit of sweet perfection!
