Or take them to Björnlandet, a fairy tale forest where the kids will be taken on a ski adventure with singing, talking, skiing bears. Even the entertainment is adapted to children with special après ski opportunities.
Furthermore, there is plenty to do besides skiing for those looking for a day off the slopes, from the famous mile-long toboggan run to dog sledding. Did we mention the chocolate factory? Les Gets, France
While the picturesque village of Les Gets is as far from a purpose built resort as you can get, it actually seems to be designed to offer families a perfect experience. Situated at the heart of the Ports du Soleil, one of the largest ski areas in France, the vast ski area is ideally suited for children and beginners; hosting excellent ski schools and offering gentle slopes. There is even a fabulous dedicated area for children, the Grand Cry, where the theme is Cowboys and Indians. Adults may only venture here if accompanied by children; together they can visit an Indian tepee, go on a treasure hunt, attend a war face-painting workshop, and enjoy skiing boarder-cross style ski runs with little moguls and banked turns. There is also a kids’ beginner run down by the village with no lift pass required.
Filled with traditional Alpine charm, the resort is also unrivalled when it comes to bringing the best ambience and facilities for families, with many companies offering a huge choice of deals on family ski holidays with child-friendly chalets.
