In life there are lots of things that we think matter, but when we stop to think about it, what matters most? Yes, our families will usually take first place, but what else?
John Lewis have just launched a competition where they are asking you to submit an image of something that matters most to you. It could be a family heirloom or a special object which means the world to you but you only have six words to explain why it matters most to you. The winner will receive a £500 John Lewis voucher.
Here is what matters most to me.
This ring was given to me by my grandparents at my christening almost 40 years ago. The front of the ring resembled a shield and included my initials. The initials have begun to fade, the ring itself is bent, and my grandparents sadly passed away a few years ago. There isn’t a day since they died that I haven’t thought about them or missed them, but this ring still holds strong the bond I had with them both. I was lucky to have had them both in my life at all.
Deciding on my chosen object was easy. Finding six words to explain my choice was much harder. Finally I simply decided on this…
What would you choose and why?
