We returned to the unit yesterday morning to discover that Tim’s jaundice levels had still not decreased enough, resulting in an extended few hours under the bili lamp.
At lunchtime his levels were measured again to finally show the drop we had been waiting for.
His feeding became more established, moving completely off the tube. His tubes were removed, as were all remaining wires.
Finally, at 10pm last night, I had a new room-mate.
He is short, dark and handsome.
And his name is Tim.
Next step, home!
