It’s fair to say that the Radford family from Morecambe have had a bit of a busy year.
Not only have Sue and Noel welcomed their 16th child into the world as well as their first grandchild, but they and their family has had a TV crew in tow, following their every move.
The one hour special titled ’16 Kids and Counting’ follows the Radford family’s journey through the last year where we get to join them on holiday, and we share both Sue’s and daughter Sophie’s pregnancies and the arrival of both babies.
Sue and I have been in contact since we completed filming of ’15 Kids and Counting’ last year but as we live in the South and they much further up North we haven’t had the chance to meet up… until now!
When we heard that they would be travelling down to London for an interview on ITV’s This Morning on Friday we knew we couldn’t let them leave without arranging to meet up with them first. Sue and I set about trying to arrange things while Mike and Noel were occasionally given updates.
However, things were about to snowball! Once the production company responsible for filming the series that both our families are participating in (out later this year) got wind of our plans they were keen to join us too, in order to capture the moment!
All the arrangements are now in place, and once the Radfords have finished rubbing shoulders with Phil and Holly and hob-nobbing with the stars, they’ll be coming down to earth with a bump with a meeting with… us. What a come-down, eh?! And to add to the occasion the crew will be filming our first meeting too – so you might get to see it eventually as well!
We’re looking forward to it and I’ll be sure to keep you updated on our day.
Two families = 4 parents + 28 children + 1 grandbaby.
Should be fun!
’16 Kids and Counting’ is airing on Channel 4 at 9pm on Friday, 11th January. Don’t miss it!

I loved the programme! Lovely family, great kids, wonderful parents! I haven’t stopped smiling throughout the whole programme! Have a good time meeting them! x
