We are already into the second week of October, and this month marks Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
On average, one person every ten minutes will receive the devastating news that they are suffering from breast cancer. This shattering news relies on the providence of the support and resources to help inform, guide, help and comfort those affected and their families.
As little as £5 can provide the much-needed help needed at this frightening time and so we are taking this opportunity to request your help in raising funds during this month of raising awareness.
Now, you may think that a 5k run isn’t quite your thing and sitting in a bathtub of baked beans doesn’t quite cut it for you. So why not get busy in the kitchen instead? Arrange a coffee morning or a bake sale then set to finding a selection of recipes which you can sell or serve alongside a nice cup of tea or coffee whilst having a chat and get-together with friends. Find out how to make cupcakes with this delicious cupcake recipe, for example. You could even give them a twist with pink icing to symbolise the pink ribbon associated with breast cancer awareness.
I don’t know about you but eating cake and drinking coffee is far more appealing than running around a muddy field – and knowing you’re helping a good cause means you can have that extra cake without the guilt!
(Disclosure: £10 for the writing of this post was donated to a breast cancer charity.)
