I have also seen some stating that we receive money for home educating which as you are aware we don’t receive a penny and fund it ourselves.

Yet still we hear the cries of “our taxes!”. Perhaps we ought to point out that our taxes support their children in their school education even though our own children don’t use it?

It seems to me like you’re doing a fantastic job with your family and it certainly isn’t your fault that it is virtually impossible to earn a wage in this country that people can soley live off without it being topped up no matter how many children you do or don’t have. You have, as have I, saved the tax payer a small fortune by being a home educator but the critics want to ignore that bit don’t they?!

Thank you for commenting. As I stated in the article I’ve linked to above, there definitely does need to be a reform to the entire benefits system as it is clearly one which doesn’t work but the reform needs to go hand in hand with bringing up a worker’s pay to be in line with the cost of living.

(Again it might be worth clarifying that housing benefit doesn’t apply to us as we own our own home).
