Review: MAM Bite & Relax Teethers

Having one teething baby is hard enough.  Dealing with teething twins is really tough going!

When MAM offered to send us a couple of their new Phase 2 Bite & Relax Teethers for the girls to try out we thought we had nothing to lose.

MAM designers joined forces with dental specialists and paediatricians to come up with a mini teether designed specifically to meet the needs and abilities of small babies.

The Phase 1 Bite & Relax Teether is suitable for babies from 2  months of age.  The design not too dissimilar to a traditional soother is made with the emerging front teeth in mind.

The Phase 2 Bite & Relax Teether’s design is aimed to aid sore gums which are dealing with the emergence of molars and is suitable for babies from 4 months old.

When the two Phase 2 teethers arrived I was surprised at how much smaller they were compared to the usual great teething rings we were used to handing over to young babies.  In comparison they were much easier for tiny hands to handle and much lighter for them too.

Both Libby and Anna were just getting used to reaching and grasping for objects, so these were not only the perfect size and weight for them to comfortably handle but also a great design for their still-learning fingers to hold onto.

Each of the sides of the teether had a different surface which soothe and massage baby’s gums and the shaped design allows baby to easily manoeuvre and manage the teether to just the right place they need to provide much needed teething relief.

Both twins were very keen to chomp on their new teethers.  Libby in particular seemed to enjoy it’s massaging qualities as you can tell from the picture at the top of the post!

MAM Bite & Relax Teethers are BPA free and are sold with their own travel box which also doubles up as a useful steriliser.  Simply fill the box with water up to the indicated level, place the teether in it and close the box.  Then heat in the microwave for three minutes (750-1000watts).  It’s as simple as that!
