It has often been said that women are known for their multi-tasking abililties but a recent survey by British Gas reveals how the internet helps their time-saving skills go even further.
For me, the internet has proven to be such a life-line. All my bills and banking are set up so I can deal with them online saving me a lot of time, money and hassle, especially with so many other things to do.
According to the survey mums are saving up to an hour a day by using the internet to complete tasks such as buying gifts, managing finances and paying bills. 39% of those surveyed said they did these tasks alongside doing the housework, 10% whilst pushing a buggy and 22% whilst on the toilet!
Whilst mums spend the least amount of time online, the time they do spend on the internet is used efficiently to deal with everyday tasks. To help minimise the valuable time they need to spend doing chores such as submitting meter readings, managing energy bills or checking their balance British Gas has introduced a range of online tools.
Registering with the British Gas Online Account Management system (OAM) enables you to use your smartphone to deal with mundane tasks such as bill payment or arranging an engineer whilst waiting for the kids to come out of school or when stuck in the supermarket queue. This frees up the time you would have otherwise used doing these jobs for the more important things in life like playtime with the kids… or even a nice cup of tea and a book once they're tucked up in bed!
Not only will using the system help to save time but also money. Think of all the money saved no longer having to commute to pay a bill especially if parking fees are needed! Then there is always saving money on phoning around and waiting on hold – even with a local rate call these all add up. And of course the savings on setting up a Direct Debit for your energy bills with British Gas can come to an average of £67 a year according to their figures.
Register now and you'll also receive 2000 Nectar points plus extra rewards whenevere you submit a reading or using the online dashboard!
