Dr Brown’s Feeding Bottles – Review

We have been fans of Dr Brown’s bottles ever since Eddie, our fifth child was a baby.  I’ve shared our experience before of having to deal with the most miserable baby in the world until we realised the poor thing was suffering from colic.

We traded in his bottles for Dr Brown’s and never looked back.  Thinking we might be a bit biased in our favour toward these “miracle bottles” we sent a starter pack out to a desperate parent for their own, independent review.

The feedback was as we expected.  The bottles were only received last week yet the results were fast and positive.  Baby has already settled down considerably and no longer has issues with periods of prolonged crying.  Baby is happy and mum and dad are very happy, less anxious and much less tired than they were a couple of weeks ago.

So how do they work?

Dr Brown’s bottles contain a patented vent system which provides vacuum-free feeding by reducing the air bubbles in the milk.  The bottle collar captures the air and directs it through to the end of the bottle via the reservoir tube, allowing baby to feed without taking the gulps of air which result in painful wind and colic issues.

The bottles are dishwasher safe and can be put in a steriliser or boiling water.

According to an independent survey it emerged that Dr Brown’s bottles were the first choice for 43% of mums changing their baby’s bottle to relieve the symptoms of colic with three quarters of them reporting an improvement in their baby’s colicky symptoms.  Additionally, 36% of users found an improvement after only one feed.
